PROJECT SUMMARY
The development of a new coal mine was undertaken by Xstrata Coal South Africa in Alliance with ARM Coal. A critical component in the daily operation of the coal preparation plant are two stackers for two grades of product, export coking coal and domestic thermal coal. Christof and Helmut were instrumental in the completion of a design, supply and construct contract. The machines’ design focused on an existing, well performing design at Xstrata’s Mt Owen Mine in the Hunter Valley of NSW, Australia, previously prepared by Christof and Helmut.
